Specific Phobia include people who try to avoid situations when they are in a common place, or objects even though they are aware that there is no danger to it. This phobia mostly focuses on animals, insects, heights, thunder, driving, public transportation, flying, dental or medical procedures, and elevators. Social phobia include people who has intense feeling of fear for being scrutinized and negatively evaluated by others in social situations. In some bad cases, they may even feel sick from the fear of socializing. For this phobia, people have choices. They may feel comfortable talking to one person but difficult talking to people that have different tasks. Agoraphobia include people who has difficulty entering places they have been before, and had a bad event happen. Or they may have difficulties entering places that gives them insecurity of escape.

2. What symptoms do children with generalized anxiety disorder have?

Children with general anxiety usually have symptoms that are muscle tension, fatigue, restlessness, difficulty sleeping, irritability, edginess, gastrointestinal discomfort, or diarrhea. Also, it may include clinging behavior, tantrums, and even from time to time mutism.


3. Why is it difficult for individuals with panic disorder to get a correct diagnosis?

The symptoms of panic disorder include the ones of heart diseases, thyroid problems, and breathing disorders. Therefore, people feel threatened by the fact that their life is in danger, so because they make many visits to emergency rooms and doctors' offices, it may take a very long time and a great amount of frustration before they decide to receive the correct diagnosis.


4. Describe the methods used to treat anxiety disorders.

The methods used to treat anxiety disorders could be cognitive-behavioral therapy where it helps to identify themselves, understand, and change their thinking and behaviors to a correct and steady way. Others may decide to take relaxation techniques, meditation, yoga, exercise that help people with GAD.
